Major Groups at the 5th World Water Forum
By including the Major Groups Framework from Agenda 21, the Forum co-organizers acknowledged the need to ensure multi-stakeholder dialogues are conducted at every step of the preparatory process and during the event itself. The breakdown of the relevant stakeholders into nine Major Groups, namely women, youth and children, business and industry, local governments, science and technology, workers and trade unions, indigenous people, farmers and NGOs, enables the Forum to confirm how seriously it takes the diversity.
To support the major groups in their efforts, the co-organizers made available individual collaborative spaces for each of the major groups on this page in the VMS. Through these pages, major groups were able to find out more about the various ways of participating in the Forum, and in their own spaces could discuss the contributions that they would like to make to the Forum.
